EasyPaisa, TimePay, MobiCash, MobilePaisa Wastes Time Only!
Mobile operators are getting modern day by day in Pakistan as they are expanding their services and area of services. With the steps towards 3G you think that Pakistani Mobile operators might be doing well. So you might think. Since there is no PayPal in Pakistan and its almost impossible to get a bank account in Pakistan without proper business card or Employment proof. Mobile operators introduces knew that people had to send and receive money so they introduced Easy Paisa, Time Pay, Mobi Cash etc to make the poor Pakistani citizens send and receive money without a bank account. But are Easy Paisa worth anyone's time? These are some of the most reasonable points and top 7 reasons why easy paisa and all the similar services sucks so bad!
- ID card required to send and receive money:-You think living in the 21st century would make your life more enjoyable and sending and receiving money would be like a breeze. Well in reality its pain in the butt to send and receive money via Easy Paisa as sending and receiving money requires your National Identity Card and the original one to send and receive money. Now i am not against this but what happens when person travelling through Pakistan and receiving money in emergency don't actually have his original Identity card and have a copy of the N.I.C?He wouldn't be able to receive money and also if a person want to send money to his family he can't without his National Identity card....So what is the point of bio metric Sim Card registration if you still require identity cards for sending and receiving money via easy paisa.
- No Android OR IOS App:-Again we have smartphones nowadays in Pakistan don't we? and also android phones are cheap enough for everyone right? so why Mobilink, Telenor, Warid, Ufone etc don't integrate sending and receiving money to smartphone apps? why they actually don't have any kind of mobile app after being mobile operators.
- No Way Of Tracking Money:-So imagine that by miracle you are able to send the money to your desired person. So how would you know if the person had received money or not? I am sure people in comments will say like call your friend but come on you are not sending candy. You are sending money and the person received the money can lie and say there was no money received. You need a proper tracking code so you are able to keep track of money and should be able to check if the money was delivered or not from the internet or from your mobile number.
- No Way To Send Money To A Mobile Number:-Well since easy Paisa is a without bank service you always need ID card number of the person you wanna send money to and mobile number alone won't cover your sorry butt. But hey its good for security. But imagine if you are sending money to your wife or mother. And you always hand out their N.I.C card number to the retailer. See what i mean. There is no simple way to send money without N.I.C number or even the numbers you send money don't save like in ATM machines.
- Waste Of Time #1:-If you live in an area where shops and specifically retailer shops are not huge and are pretty small but are only ones that have those easy paisa signs on them.So you are receiving money and you visit an easy paisa retailer shop but when you get there the retailer tell you some kind of bull like the system is down and come back later.Have you imagined why? Well there are many reasons but the reason that i have in my mind is retailers that have small business don't actually have money and tell you to come back later hoping that they would be able to pay your easy paisa request..... Way to go operators. Hand down your license to more small retailers.
- Personal Information Revealed:-Again imagine that you are sending money to your wife or any woman in your family and you have to hand over her number along with her name to the shady retailer to send money. Does this sound safe? You handing number of your loved one to a scum of society? This is why Easy paisa is a good concept but these privacy invasion things can get you into a lot of trouble.
- Waste Of Time #2:-Traveling to a retailer shop to send and receive money is a lot of waste of time. Like now you can send money to a bank account with some operators like easy paisa but you will need to go to a retailers shop to send money. My point here is that again we like in 21st century and can't these mobile operators provide online sending and receiving apps like PayPal?
So these are some of the reasons of why EasyPaisa sucks and all its alternative services sucks but overall i do love the service but don't like some points. Recently they did had launched bank transfers but again would you be comfortable handing personal information of the receiver? Wasting time? Completely rely on running back and forth and not on mobile apps? and no way to track your money transfer? We hope that these services do improve in the future or better yet get destroyed by launching PayPal in Pakistan.
