censorship and restrictions from the western world. Like it wasn't enough that Pakistani officials banned social sites like Omegle, Reddit and more in the past, Recently Pakistani Government has gone up a notch by adding the famous blogging platform WordPress.com to its banned list!
You heard right. Recently they banned WordPress.com hosted blogs and website in the country claiming they are used by Taliban leaders to spread the word. But the last time i remembered it was Malala Yousef Zai who was Blogging and writing about the torture of Taliban leaders in her hometown.
The girl got a Nobel peace price for blogging about the Taliban and Pakistani High Authorities praised her role but it seems now they don't like blogging all of a sudden.
With more than 2/6 people working as freelancers the government's PTA is trying to put their foot on the throats of people who are writing online and earning honest income. Surely the country isn't much literate but that doesn't mean that there aren't people that don't work online.

Even after the ban of the website many people can still open the site regardless of the Censorship. How can the people of Pakistan prosper if the government take away what the people got and tell the people that it is for security reasons. How will PayPal come to Pakistan when they can clearly see that the government isn't doing anything for freelancers in their own country.
That is right. The government of Pakistan is saying that this is for Security because Taliban were using WordPress for blogging. Now i am not a hater but that looks like a joke! Can't Taliban use VPN? Will Taliban use their original IP?
The country's official aren't loyal to the Freelancers in the country and this step will strike a below to the Freelancers in the country. Many people and houses earning from blogging will surely go broke with the banning of WordPress.com.
Still people can use Self hosted WordPress but free and paid are two different things! Hopefully government can wake up and un ban WordPress blog for the Freelancers of the country. #WordPressBannedPakistan
Let us make the government to reopen banned sites in Pakistan and hopefully our freelancers can live their life in freedom and peacefully. We are independent nation but we still are not free. Not Just yet.
